An issue in OpenLayers has been causing the Country Bumpkin quiz to fail in Internet Explorer 8. I have used the meta tag workaround suggested in that report to force IE8 to use IE7 compatibility mode, and that has cured the immediate problem.<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7"/>There is also an ongoing occurrence of map tiles from NASA being slow or not turning up at all, so I shall investigate the feasibility of switching to a more reliable provider. In the meantime, just think of this as making the quiz just that little bit harder...
