Have you ever watched a film on television where for every seven minutes of film there are three minutes of advertisements? I mean that literally, not just as a ratio. I knew there was a reason I stopped watching films on commercial tv, and Channel 9 Australia has reminded me what it is.
They managed to extend the 90 minute critically-acclaimed mockumentary Best in Show into a 2-hour boredom fest. I really did not enjoy the film, but feel that it was not a fair showcase .
The odd thing is that showing so many advertisements has, at least consciously, the opposite to the intended effect. If I saw an ad once tonight, and it was a good ad, then it may have left a positive impression on me. More than once, eg. 10 times, leaves a decidedly negative impression. Hmmm, so how do I build a Freevo?
