Have you checked your candidates in Saturday's election yet? Even if you normally follow your party's preferences, you may want to reconsider this year. There has been so much wheeling and dealing with the numerous minor parties that your preference may end up with a party whose policies you greatly disagree with. For example, in my area the Wikileaks Party has the Nationals ahead of The Greens.
Party names aren't always indicative of their policies - Liberal, anyone - so the summary of the minor parties' platforms from Triple M may prove useful.
Dave has done some interesting analysis of which parties are preferenced the most by other parties. He found that the Australian Sports Party is very popular, presumably because nobody could possibly object to their "healthy living through sport" policy. Way down the bottom are The Greens, the Socialist Equality Party and the Citizens Electoral Council. This means if you vote above the line there is little chance that your preference will reach those these parties.
To plan how to vote, and to easily see how the parties are preferencing in your electorate see Below The Line. You may find a party which closely matches your preferences, so you can save some time on the day, avoid on-the-spot errors, and vote above the line for them.
