Was Nokia a bargain?

Last year Google bought Motorola's handset company. Now Microsoft have announced their purchase of Nokia's mobile phone business unit. Given the relatively recent dominance of Nokia in the mobile phone market the relative prices paid for these companies makes it look like Microsoft got a bargain.



 But is it all about the patents?
