A lesser-known attraction in Washington D.C.

I'm surprised that none of the guide books to Washington D.C. that I earnestly perused prior to my recent trip mentioned the Target store in Columbia Heights. If they knew of the innovation in shop design contained within then tourists would flock from throughout the world to experience it for themselves. The marvel of which I speak is, as pictured to the right, the trolley escalator, or in local lingo, the shopping cart conveyor.

I was keen to try out the mechanism, and I even had a legitimate purchase of a watch to convey, but a little voice outside my head wisely forbade it. However, I am already planning my next 25 hour plane ride to return and finally get to use this wonderful contraption.

Note: This attraction is not affected by the United States federal government shutdown.
