What's filling the courts this year?

I was surprised to read that over 10% of cases tried in magistrates' courts are for television license offences. For comparison, here's a chart showing motoring offences too:



Although this sounds like a lot of time is being expended on what some might consider a lesser offence, these cases are apparently dealt with in bulk and do not clog the system.

If you can't afford the £150 full licence, the black and white version is a bargain at only £50.
